I wish I were enormous
I wish I were an enormous house
Where all my loved ones could live
I would hold them
And they could rest wherever they wanted
And they would see only good things
With eyes closed or open
And hear music swell up in their ears
When they came home from work
And they’d be thankful for their dinner
Meat and potatoes, or baked fish, or Chinese take-out
And there would always be chocolate ice-cream in the freezer
And they would always love
Someone.
And my roof would protect them from the rain..
